Dodge vs Dodge

I had a 05 dodge 3500 with a 6 speed that would cross the mountain with trailer and 10,000# of tractors at around 55 mph in 4th. I traded for a 06 with a auto and it will only cross at 45 with same trailer and tractors. now the ????? should there be that much difference or do I have a problem?Has anyone else had this much difference? thanks
