It does all sound familar again Jak. We use to run pertronix (not called that back then) on lots of irrigation engines at one time but I never liked them because you had to have a good battery and alternator and a thief could drive by to steal those so went to running mags instead. Yep, bad wiring, bad ground, chewed up wires by cattle and poor battery can fry those things.
