What impresses you most?

Just wondering what impresses ya'll most about other "professionals" that you have do work for you. Reason I ask is something a customer told Dad Friday. We've known the guy for nearly 6 years, back to when he was a store manager at our local NAPA. He has called us to do several jobs since being with the new company, even though they have been using another independent mechanic company almost exclusively for years. Long story short he/they have been impressed not only with the the quality of the work we've done for them but also the fact that we really do work and don't goof off and take all day to do half a days work. The thing that suprised me more than anything though was when he told dad, basically, that before he ever saw us actually work he was already impressed with our work. Being the manager of the NAPA he said that he had always noticed we very rarely returned parts. Knowing other individuals in the same line of work he said they routinely bought and returned parts, often multiple times. So, in his eyes, if a man bought the parts he really needed the first time and didn't spend more time buying and returning parts he didn't need in a search of the ones he did, then that man must know what he's doing...and to him that was impressive. I've alway been told there's nothing more powerful than a first impression. Something like this just goes to show that you never know what you do that someone is gonna be impressed by, so always strive to do your best and make a good impression........As a final note after Friday the other indpendent is out the door and we have a new account.
