Good points about the tank. I did plan to inspect it closely inside and out before building any significant preassure (one of the tags on the unit says "MAX PR 60", which I assume means the preasure relief valve is set to 60 psi), but the home hydro test sounds like a good idea.

No water came out of the pet cock at the bottom of the tank when I opened it up, but I would be suprised if it was not pretty rusty inside.
