Hi, I am hoping there is someone here that can help me understand this better. I just finished putting together a D-175 engine for my 1967 AC I-600 industrial backhoe / loader tractor, so I'm anxious to finish the project and get her going. I have drained all the other fluids for replacement and I'm wondering what's the best stuff to put back in. The operator's manual calls out type "A" automatic transmission fluid for the shuttle clutch, power steering, torque tube reservoir, & hydraulic system. I've done some research and found the general opinion is Dexron III is okay to use in place of the type "A" fluid, but since I happen to have 10 gals of AW-46 hydraulic fluid already, I was thinking about using that. Is there anything wrong with using this for everything? Another question I have is the manual says to use SAE 80 EP transmission oil in the transmission, SAE 20-20W motor oil in the rear end, & SAE 30 in the engine. I know what they're talking about for the rear end and engine, but am a little confused by the SAE 80 EP. I'm assuming a regular 85w90 gear oil will be okay here. Am I correct? anybody have any opinions on this? Your help and knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Tim

Uncle Cecil was the second owner of this wonderful little tractor, but it was almost as though he had adopted an infant. The original owner was a man from Minnesota who bought her from a local dea
