Massey 250 Vs Ford 2000

I have a 74 Ford 2000 right now. It has the 35hp 3 cyl Gas engine. She does a pretty good job around the Little Farm. She's a bit lite to move big bales of Hay though. I have the front tires filled with water, But that just not quite enough.
I'm looking at a 1987 Massey 250 with a rebuilt 3cyl. Perkins Diesel. I think this tractor is almost 1000 lbs heavier, So I'm thinking it can handle the bigger bales easier. Which tractor is Better?
