I guess the costs are right up there with about any other machine. Last fall I got a couple springs for the feeder housing from a local dealer that still supports Fox to an extent, but they went mostly to small equipment for landscapers. They were only about $10 each or so. A new shear cost us close to $100 if I remember right, and a new set of knives priced out to about $400 + shipping from Zenith. Not bad in the scheme of things, just too much for a smallguy like us to afford for maybe 30-35 loads of corn, 10-15 loads of bedding and maybe 6-10 loads of haylage every year. New gathering chains cost us about $450 this fall. Next thing might be the apron chain. I guess for a free chopper it can be expected to spend a few bucks on it every year. Donovan from Wisconsin
