won't hurt anything. all modern hoses, etc. are oil resistant. back in the "old" days most put a quart or so of oil in the cooling system to protect the antifreeze from evaporating when the engine was shut down. the antifreeze back then was alcohol. the theory was that after the engine was shut off the oil would rise to the top of the radiator (alcohol and water solution to the bottom) and form a barrier to keep the alcohol from evaporating (alcohol has a low vapor pressure). bob farrell
