The highest I have ever seen in a moderen 2wd is 200hp. The 200hp JD 4960 was availible in 2wd. Also the 8870 Ford/New Holland was availible in 2wd, and the factory specs say 180hp, but the motors in those can easily run 300hp with the turn of a screw driver, and I think most came with alot more power than they were supposed to like the 8970 did. The best about the 8870 is full powershift. Other 180hp tractors would include the Allis Chalmers 7080, the White 2-180 and the International 5488. The John Deere 6030 is rated for 175hp but they are built so rugged that they could take 300hp as well. The problem with all these high horsepower 2wd tractors is you can't really get the power out of them to the ground in most situations.
