N-series Ford serial numbers are quite a topic of study. You see all kinds of crazy things if you look long enough. I agree with the others as to the year and model. You have a 1946 2N. All 9N and 2N serial numbers start with 9N. That's why some tractor "experts" don't even know there is such a thing as a 2N. If you still have the original front hood emblem (Ford script in an oval) look closely under the word Ford. You should see a tiny 2N stamped there. There are a couple of possibilities regarding that N that looks like an I. Possibility 1 is that the N got stamped poorly so that only one vertical stem of the N shows. Another possibility is that the s/n guy got in a hurry and grabbed the wrong stamp. The letter I was commonly used by Ford in place of the digit 1 so both stamps would have been in his arsenal.
