I have a 2950 MFWD with cab and loader and use it very often for baling round bales and moving them. I wouldn"t call it easy shifting but it runs great and loader works well. I use a NH664 baler and depending on what size round baler you are getting or have I wouldn"t recomment using any of the smaller tractors. We have some hills here in KY and if you are baling up hill with a 5 x 6 or 6 x 6 round baler you will need all the HP that the 2940 or 2950 will give. If you are making smaller bales or have mostly flat ground than the smaller HP should do it. I wouldn"t buy the tractor with the minimum HP you think you need though, you will be running it flat out all the time, go to the next bigger size.
