If you're talking about XL Hustler mowers. The commercial ones are top of the line. I don't know about the residential ones. Hustlers were the first dual path hydrastatic zero turn mowers. They had a hydrastatic pump and motor for each side. The same as a skid steer loader. This allowed for less than zero turn capabilities without tearing up the grass. They also made [make] the hill side Hustler. The first one was the 402 with 4 wheels and the middle back wheel. This was updated to a six wheel drive model. The unique thing about these mowers was that the cab could be tilted either automatically or manually so the opererator was always level when cutting slopes. My dad sold commercial turf equipment for over 40 years. He had been the factory appointed salesman for Jacobson, Toro, Mott, Hustler and Ariens consumer products, mostly snow blowers. He set many world wide sales records because he knew his products and he knew his customers needs. He wouldn't sell them a lesser machine than they needed just to get a sale. Hustlers were more expensive but were one of the best machines ever made. The 295 model used a 2 cylinder water cooled continental engine. Very durable engine for a lawn mower in the 70's. The parent company of Hustler is noteworthy because they built roll bars for John Deere. I would think that Hustler still makes a good machine. There is a lot of competition today.
