I don't think different oils cause too much trouble. We rented an IH last fall to run a bagger but it ended up on the chopper instead, where our Oliver 1855 had been. It did end up taking a litle of the MF Perma-Tran III we run into it's own IH hy/trans stuff, and we did the same when we hooked our 1855 back onto the chopper in the spring. Never noticed any difference, and I really don't think that a few quarts of the "other" oil would do much harm. If on the other hand, if the last guy to use it doesn't clean his connections or use dust plugs, yeah there's gonna be a little dirt in the system. It should be filtered out by the tractor's filter, but some of it goes into the cylinder before it'll go back to the tractor to get filtered. Donovan from Wisconsin
