diesel lowers octane. your deere is low compression, spark ignited. disregard what was posted about slower burn, it's nonsense.(had to replace a word there, its a family website) I ran fuel oil in my H at times (it was in the furnace tank, too lazy to go get gas) horsepower gains are negligible, kinda smelly, a real birch if you stall your tractor w/a carb full of anything but gas.......don't over think this whole mess - fuel all costs about the same, keep it simple
