King Cotton, I agree with the others that the IH 622 was probably the best cotton picker ever. It had quite a bit more capacity than the 422. It does not have the capacity of some of the newer pickers, both JD and Case-IH, but it will clean the stalk better than the John Deere pickers, new or old. It was a rugged built picker and generally low maintainence for a picker. The Hydrostatic drive made it a very pleasent picker to operate. I think the belt drive mentioned was just offered one year and I agree the Hydrostatic was much better. All of these comments also apply to the 616, but we only used high drums (622) in our area.
