You're right, Allan, it becomes kind of fun to figure out how to fabricate tools for "one-off" jobs- I've got end wrenches with interesting little notches in them (to clear obstructions enough to make some headway), one of the Missus's kitchen knives bent at a 90 degree angle to loosen stuck clutches through the starter hole, etc. I'm always happy to get yet another cheap tool set, which becomes cannon fodder for the next specialty tools. You may all want to commit to memory the fact that the rear axle key from a Minneapolis Moline 4 Star Super is exactly the right size to remove the transmission oil filler plug on an IH 504 Utility.
