Here in extreme north central Iowa, we had an almost perfect fall except for a hail storm that went through here at 3:30 AM on October 4th. Hail stones up to kitten ball size fell for up to one half hour. Most of the soybeans were harvested; those that were in the field were reduced to 0 to 20 bu/A. Some 200 bu/A corn fields were reduced to 10 bu/A. We didn't get hit too hard so corn yields were above 150 bu/A. That was about all the precipitation that we received so corn harvest was finished and fall tillage followed. I use a Tebben ripper to go over my soybean ground about 12 to 14 inches deep. We chop the corn stalks and then go over the corn ground with a White 435 disk chisel at 5+ mph and about 8 inches deep. We finished fall tillage on Wed, Oct 25th. I would post some pictures here, but I haven't figured that out yet.
