Can you post an audio link? Just kiddin.In general a crank speed thump is at engine RPM an cam[valve train] noise is half that speed.There is no way to analyze a noise by telephone or verbal description as far as I know.The way to fix that in an old car was to turn up the radio louder.Or if your a used car dealer add some sawdust to the oilpan.Not what you want to hear.They have a mechanics stethescope in most auto parts store to locate better.
