I'm in NE WI, freedom area. My brother and I grew up living next door to my grandfathers farm, my dad and us would grow vegetables and pumpkins on the land growing up. Unfortunately dad had opportunities to buy the farm and never did, now all that is growning on it is houses...I bought some land (9.5 acres) outside of town in 2004, been putting trees and have a driveway in, hope to build out there in the next year or two. The top 5 acres or so are high, good land. The bottom 4 are a little low (see facing the other farm), it's wet until about the end of may, but the rest of the summer its dry and tillable. Not sure if getting some drain tile in would make it all useable?? My dad passed away in 2005, but about two months before he did he helped me purchase the old case. He wasn't one to ever express his feelings, but I think he was happy I was buying a tractor...My brother has always been more interested in farming than me, so I think he was happy when I asked him to help plow the garden. It's about an acre, planning on just some pumpkins & tomatoes at this time.
