Number one rule to avoid being taken? NEVER EVER EVER open a secure page that would ask for passwords through a link! Let me repeat that, don't ever use a link to a site where they are asking for your passwords. Shame on you, you should have known better. I get that crap all the time. Just don't let it get you in a frenzy, check the status of your accounts directly from the site itself and you will most likely find no activity, then report it to the site webmaster. Oh, one last thing. Never use a link to open a site that would be asking for user ID's and/or passwords.
