A friend has an 2002 and he's had lots of troubles with it. The latest was the oil cooler. It's the 1.8T motor, and it has an oil cooler between the engine block and oil filter, which engine coolant circulates through. Well, I guess they fail sometimes, and it was his turn. Engine oil in the coolant. Very expensive few days at the stealership.
