The hub is probably on a tapered axel. You need to pound the axle to get the hub to pop off. there was a thread protector to protect the threads. It helps if you jack up the opposite wheel before hitting the axle. Since your wheel is off you can set the drum on a block. As others have said there are r&l threads. Stan
