My '99 Chevy pickup gives me a huge shock (1/2 inch arch!) when I get out and touch the door. Granted it is mostly when the weather is cool and dry, never when it is damp so I attribute it mostly to static electricity but I have never had a vehicle shock me like this one (can never prepare myself enough). Just curious if anyone else has experienced severe shocks (not from ignition) from any vehicle and what was the root cause. I do have a bank of lights out in the dash and have considered stray voltage (12 volts?) of some sort, or maybe a bad ground strap? My biggest fear is making it to the gas cap and kaboom! I have tried "Static Gaurd" spray which only works for a day. thanks, "Sparky" Bill
