Given the age and miles it's no suprise. A valve failure could have taken the piston out. Has anybody over revved her? At this age and hours valve and cam follower springs do get tired. A piston slamming into a valve that's too late seating sounds like this mess. If rebuilding her, an all new set of every spring maybe a consideration. If the valves have been floating/bouncing some. It would explain the loss of power too. The C series injectors are much better than the S series and even the N's. Is the blower being driven under, normal or over?
