Up here in Canada, any tractor club has two basic policies. One is "general liability" and the other is "officer and director liability". Without going into specifics about what is covered under each, let me make it clear that NO INDIVIDUAL CLUB MEMBER IS COVERED BY THE CLUB INSURANCE. The club insurance covers the club for it's negligence and also the officers and directors of the club for the club's negligence. Even the officers and directors are not covered for their own personal negligence. Anyone can sue anyone, anywhere, anytime, for anything and it's almost that simple. They might not be successful but they can sue, no doubt about that. Anybody that takes a piece of equipment to a show or drives someone else's equipment, etc. better have his own liability coverage. That would include throwing away an empty bag of popcorn and hitting someone's kid in the eye. It's just that simple. Check into the EDGETA (Early Days Gas Engine and Tractor Association) insurance that is available through about 100 tractor clubs in the USA.
