Bill,
Having driven many 2 speed rears and some 3
speed eaton tandems and a large selection of
trucks with aux transmissions, 16 speed spicer
two stick, 18 and 20 speed mack , many 5 and 3 ,
and 5and 4 . This may sound like an over simplifcation , but
always shift the main box with the aux in high,
this includes rear axles. The one thing you should not do is shift both
at the same time , you may get away with it most
of the time but eventually you will get the drive
shaft uncoupled from the gears at both ends ,
then you will start over . george
