Used to be a 3010D might be down around $4000. Like the 4020 they have risen in price, to be collected and just because a new tractor that does the same work costs more than it used to. With 2/3 the hp of a 4020 the 3010 ought to cost 2/3 but it will cost more than that. I've seen 3010/3020 go for over $7000 and that was 8 or 10 years ago with so many hours the tachometer read 5 yours. First or second time around, nobody would admit. The rub with buying a tractor at a typical auction is that you don't get to drive it and check out the brakes, drive line, and hydraulic. All you'll get is to visually inspect it and maybe hear it run. There are many things to be tested, though I'm not adamant on a dynomometer test. I still like to see if all the gears work and stay in gear, that the brakes work and that the differential lock works, that it warms up normally, and doesn't overheat engine or transmission. Can't do that on an auction lot. Gerald J.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
