Jonathan, a tractor restoration is a GREAT idea for a senior project. I'm helping my son rebuild or TO20 Ferguson for a 4H project. These older and smaller tractors are great projects to cut you teeth on mechanical and paint work. The engines and drive train are relatively simple to work on but yet operate under the same concepts as much larger equipment. We are going slow so my son learns what the function of all the components are. It is a very good experience for him and gives me some good quality time with him. As already mentioned, the folks on here will be excellent mentors. Good luck!!
