I think it's a good idea to use nitrile gloves. Your post reminds me of my german mechanic friend. I was in his shop one day (a large 5 bay shop which he heats totally with waste oil burned in a stove made by Behr) just before noon. He said "you like shrimps?" I said "yep". He said, "good we have shrimps for lunch". He then washed his hands ( never wears gloves) with diesel fuel, wiped them off with newspapers and we took off for this "all the shrimp you can eat" place. We were sitting at the bar for about an hour devouring huge quantities of shrimp by hand and washing them down with suds. He said "good shrimps, heh?" I said "yep".
