Technicaly not a pilot, but as a kid in public school, I flew thousands of miles in 2 Anson trainers. Two surplus Ansons were taken to the local dump, tires, engines and gasoline were removed and the rest was just left. We kids flew miles and miles in them during noontime recess. All the seats, controls and instruments were still there. Great memories. BTW there is a restored Anson in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum near Hamilton Ontario along with the only flying Lancaster in North America.

He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana.
