It's easy to tear up a post hole digger, but the N tractor should not really know it's there. My brother in laws old Kubota of 15 hp handled a 12 inch digger just fine.

The 9N might lack a little of the finer points of position control, live hyd/pto, but should work fine esp since you are familiar with it.
