I run at least 5000 miles on my Mobil 1. Keep in mind that I run a lot of shorter trips and all summer we have temps that are 115* plus with climing 6% mountain grades. If I ran strictly highway miles I'd go at least 7500 miles if not 10,000. Check out bobistheoilguy.com forums for some more info and the link below for one guy's study with synthetic oil.
