14 HP KOHLER WON'T START

I have a Power King tractor with a 14 horse engine that has been in storage for at least 7 years. It will hit when I pour gas in the spark plug hole but won't pull gas into the carb. There is a housing on the side of the engine that appears to be a fuel pump between the tank and the carb. How do I prime the system?
