It's NOT quite as clear as you think! For instance, in 1947, (2N time) production overlapped with 8N production, and there were (I think) some 30,000 8N's produced. Even the experts argue about the exact numbers, I guess it has to do with model years not corresponding to "production years", much like cars, when the new models come out in late summer, or fall, or whatever. Anyhow, the progression from 9N to 2N to 8N is accurate!
