I've have the same problem with my 93' Deville with the 4.9L engine I changed the belt (was squealing) at 50,000 miles, and within 5,000 miles it was doing it again. Now I just squirt the belt with a shot or 2 of STP or other belt dressing when it starts to squeal and that solves it for another 5 or 10,000 miles. The car has 126,000 miles on it now. Strange thing is my 92' Eldorado has the identical engine and same assesories as the Deville, hence the same belt and routing and I never have a problem with it. This engine has 201,000 miles on it.
