Under that magic number of 26,000 you figure the truck comes in at about 6000-7000lbs which leaves you around 20,000 for sand/gravel. Sand/gravel per yard is around 3000 give or take some depending on how wet it is etc. My 1 ton ford with dump bed I can haul around 2-2.5 yards on it and then its to the point that its at its max. Tamden trucks around in the CDL range and well over the 26,000;lbs Shoot my tandem axle trucks weights around 17,000 empty and loaded would be up around 35,000-40,000 if not more been to many years since I drove for a liveing
