I have a 88 f-350 with a five speed and I absolutely hate the damn thing. I am by no means lazy but I have owned the truck for 17 years and never fell in love with the standard trans. It does NOTHING better than an automatic would and it never will. They are a rattley, jerky pain in the butt. Try going through a drive through window and getting something to eat or drink in that truck. You end up with more on the floor, dash and seat than you do in your mouth. Jerking, bouncing around, stiff suspension. Then if you want to have three people ride in there one person has to ride the hump with the shifter. Also have a 5.0 mustang that I race that has the five speed. Almost the same deal, jerky (but fun)trans has broke and been fixed by me. Clutch had to be changed and centerforce and scattershield put in there. I don't really know what you use your truck for but I can't honestly say I have been in any brand of late model vehicle with a stick shift that didn't make some kind of gear noise, or clutch chatter, or clunkiness in the drivetrain. Automatics are so much beefier and smoother. Like night and day in my opinion.

When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
