Back in the '70's I lived in Memphis, Tn., and my favorite hardware store sold a small plastic bag of a white powder that was intended to restore paint brushes that had not been cleaned after use (oil based enamel). You simply poured the powder in a container, added water ( I think ), submereged the hardened paint brush in the solution for 24 hours or so, and walla - a perfectly clean brush. Don't know if it is still available, but if so, it might work without damage to the screen. And it was CHEAP. Bob f.
