I love my JD 5420. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but it does everything I need it to and always has extra to spare. The best news is I bought it 3 years ago and by looking at the prices on similar used units it is still valued at nearly what I paid for it (-5%). That kind of resale has value, because I am one bad year away from having to sell out.

If you want value for your $$ look at Zetor. They will not hold their resale, but they are a lot of tractor for the money. A dealer near me also sells McCormick and Deutz. Both look like decent tractors but no idea on price...
