If you've seen none so far you must be way up north. Truly, then, you should realize you can relax about any danger from a snake, even in your bed! they just won't be there and if they were they wouldn't be the sort to hurt you. Having said that, these fears aren't really logical anyhow. If you can keep mice out you won't see any snakes. Concentrate on getting rid of the mice etc. Read about the snakes described in your area and you should develop a real knowledge and appreciation for these critters. You will even look forward to the opportunity to see one.
