No Old! Don"t go telling him to do things which might not be needed until the spark quality has been ascertained - like look at it. If spark is blue and you can draw a spark something like a centimetre, there is nothing wrong with the spark quality and you do not need to potentially superimpose an extra problem on the one you have already. IF the spark is weak and yellow, it is time for an ignition system service - it could be as Old says, but equally a number of other faults.
