We were at the sale buying cows one year and a neighbor lady was buying Holstein calves for $250.00 was selling our calves late that year, she had the steers there, about 500 pounds and they looked real good, brought .50 cents a pounds. I never heard what your intentions were with the calves. Are you raising them to keep and breed or to butcher or just to sell? Makes a lot of difference as to what you buy. I've always thought a good calf was always, always cheaper in the end no matter what you were doing with it. Jim
