Having lived my entire life here in ID I can tell you that the idea that spuds dont like straw is a line of BS, its just some farmers are too lazy to plow down their straw like they should. some will even claim it saves them money by burning the straw off but the truth is it costs them more every year in increased fertilizer applications while at the same time getting smaller yields as the years go by.
