Local dairy had corn planted and up before the last cold snap. Some of the plants looked like they would make it, but he has replanted. I had planted corn in the garden just before this last episode of global warming so it was not up. Now it is up about 2-3 inches. This is in SC. Two theories for growing corn for grain here. One, plant early season corn and hope it matures before Summer dry weather. Two, plant full season corn because it can hang on longer and wait for rain. The big farmers probably plant both to spread out the harvesting season. What do you do in the corn belt? KEH
