Just finished "plowing" my oat field. An old sod, many years old. Very rough job, I'm sure dead last on David's plowing contest. I worked hard to adjust plow for smoother job, to no avail. I'm sure not looking forward to disking it over a couple three times, before dragging. I plowed it on the diagonal to try to break up previous furrows and try to level it out. Years ago, my dad used to plow oppositely each year, so dead furrows became back furrows, etc. Land was rented several years, and those farmers weren't so careful! (Spent lot of time going around headlands this way!)
