I feel I have to correct misinformation here. The new size tires are measured at the widest part of the tire sidewall when mounted on the proper width rim. The old size was measured at the widest part of the TREAD, not thr rim bead. 16.9 tire is a new size that replaced the 15X38. The 15.5X38 tire was a newly developed, low profile tire that was developed to be a low profile tire with a wider tread that matched the circumference of the 13.6X38 tire. 15.5X38 is an excellent tire for the 40 to 60 horsepower tractor.
