I think you're right. What I related was told to me by a Kubota owner who was told that by the dealer. The dealer, it should be noted, not only sells Kubota but CaseIH, AGCO, Massey Ferguson and many different brands of oil, so I don't think it was entirely a matter of the dealer wanting to get the customer to buy only Kubota. My son bought a new BMW. To maintain the warranty, it has to be serviced with BMW approved synthetic oil and BMW filter. BMW does all of this free of charge through 60,000 miles. Then you're on your own.
