Hi Russell, The serial number will be either on a tin plate on the battery fire wall or on a flat surface on the engine block between 1 & 2 cylinder on the right side of the block. That is the engine number which is also the tractor serial number. If the engine has been replaced, then the raised letters/numbers on the left of the block, on the left of the gearbox or on the rear axle are the casting dates - normally Major's castings are wihin a few days of each other. Post any numbers and I will date it within a few days of production, I have all the figures on file. Cheers David
