Bob, If I may tag onto this help you were giving Terry. I was having starting trouble with my (Newbie) 8N positive ground tractor. I replaced the "weak sister" ignition switch, cleaned connection, ie ground, solenoid and others. It then started on the first hit. I noticed that the "ground" to the regualtor had become detached, torn away. I replaced its' clip with a poor substitute, now it acts very balky to start. It did turn over, but the battery was going down. I started it with a jumper battery. I drove it, then put it away, then to check, NO it would not even turn over. Could the ground be causing this? Thanks, Steve
