Have been doing a lot of looking around and came to the same conclusion on the year (based on the numbers). I guess I should have mentioned that the distributor is on the side of the engine, not out front. I've been told that didn't happen until 51 or 52. Now you understand my confusion!! And yes, a 5' mower is what I had in mind.
